Article image

If you like hills and glorious North Yorkshire scenery, then this is the sportive for you.

The first hill (Clay Bank) arrives after just 6 miles, and if you take the short route option you'll climb nearly 1200m over the 49 mile course.

The medium and long routes are 89 miles and 108 miles respectively, with over 2400m or nearly 3000m of uphill to negotiate, including Rosedale Chimney. If you opt for the long, you get to cycle into Whitby going past the amusements, along the coast, then up the Keiber Pass past the Whale Bone and then down to Sandsend before heading back to HQ in Stokesley.

Entry fees are £27.50 for the short; £32.50 for the medium and £37.50 for the long.
